I am an illustrator based out of Roanoke, VA, who lives in a small house surrounded by catbirds, dogwoods, and bamboo. I specialize in delicately detailed biological illustrations and whimsical, watercolor children's illustrations. When I'm not busy making a mess in my studio, I like to bird, attempt to grow sugar snap peas, and rock climb. I hope that my illustrations will inspire others to explore the world around them and find what speaks to them, whether it's birds or bugs, or wandering in the mountains or swimming in the ocean.
I grew up in Lexington, VA where I spent much of my childhood playing in creeks and cow fields and coloring in my tree house. I graduated from Guilford College in 2009 with a BFA in Drawing. I am currently a candidate for an MFA in Children's Book Writing & Illustration from Hollins University in Roanoke, VA.
