A couple weekends ago my dad and I wandered off to Chincoteague Island off the coast of Virginia to bird. We saw lots of ducks, and egrets, and coastal birds; a lot of species we don't normally see in the mountains. I finally got around to looking at some of the photos I took and started sketching a couple of the birds we saw.
Above: Brown-headed Nuthatch. They are so cute and sound like rubber ducks squeaking in the trees.
Below: Ring-billed Gull screaming through it's legs. Gulls are funny. When they call while on the ground they either yell up into the air, head and neck extended, or stick their head between their legs and do so.
